The Truth About Web Hosting
The web hosting world is a jungle. You may think those web hosting companies with the nicest-looking web sites and the most generous-looking offers are also the best?
Well... think again. In fact, some of the largest web hosts have a really poor reputation. Judging by what people say about them, it is surprising these hosting providers are still in business.
OK, here are some web hosting companies that get mostly positive feedback. I believe you will most likely have a good experience with them.
- HostGator -- One of the world's largest web hosting companies. I have used this company several years with good results. You seldom see anything negative about them.
JUST NOW you can take advantage of some coupon codes to get your first month of hosting (almost) free at HostGator!
Try either of these codes when you sign up:
1.) Coupon Code - "hostgatorcoupon"
2.) Coupon code "jury"
3.) Coupon code "hgc25"
4.) Coupon code "Hostcritique"
- InMotion Hosting -- Another fairly large web hosting provider; they get excellent customer reviews.
- DowntownHost -- A smaller hosting company with excellent reputation.
- Cartika Hosting -- A somewhat more expensive web host offering advanced technical features.
What is the best web hosting site that is free and Mac friendly with access to the FTP servers?
I recently lost my website when Geocities was shut down.
I am in the process of rebuilding it in iWeb ‘08 complete with a hit counter and whatever else I would like to put on my website.
I was wondering if someone had any suggestions for a free web hosting service complete with access to the FTP servers.
I want the hosting site to be iWeb friendly as well because that’s what I’ll be primarily using.
